Jena can be easily reached by train and by car.

By train

Jena has four stations. If you take the route from north to south (from Munich, Leipzig or Berlin) you will arrive at the station Jena-Paradiesbahnhof. If you take the route from west to east (from Erfurt or Frankfurt), leave the train at Jena-Westbahnhof.

By car

Coming from west leave the A4 motorway at the exit Jena-Göschwitz, and follow the federal highway B 88 into town.
Coming from east, leave the A4 motorway either at exit Jena-Zentrum or Jena-Göschwitz, and follow the main road into town.

By airplane

Starting from airport Leipzig/ Halle on the A9 motorway to the south (direction Munich) up to the Hermsdorfer Kreuz. Here you have to change the motorway, follow the A4 motorway westward (direction Frankfurt) and leave it either at exit Jena-Zentrum or Jena-Göschwitz.
Or starting from airport Erfurt on the A4 motorway direction Dresden to exit at Jena-Göschwitz.
